Memorial Day

It is nice when a holiday falls on a Monday since it is Nathan and Isaac's day off. We were all able to go over to Adam and Sara's house tonight. Hannah and Jacob joined us too. It was a beautiful night and the temperature was nice and cool in the shade of their backyard. We played a lot of cornhole and had hot dogs and hamburgers (and sides) for dinner. We also finally got to see Adam's mom Glenda and her friend Barb again. They have been stuck in their house as they are high-risk for Covid. They are both double vaccinated and feeling very good to be able to be with people again.

The sunset was really pretty and I thought the boys looked cute standing their together admiring it.

Opening gifts

Hannah and Jacob got back from their honeymoon last night. They had a great time in Orlando. They flew there on Sunday and home on Thursday. They spent the first day on a bass fishing tour. Jacob loved it and they caught about 7 bass. The second day was spent at Universal Studios. They said is was really hot and by around 1 pm it was getting really crowded so they ended up leaving early. They did get to do all the rides they wanted to. The third day they just stayed at the resort and spent most of the day on innertubes floating in the lazy river. Their highlight was the takeout they ordered. They found a place online and ordered a bunch of sides. They said they had the best fried mac n cheese and sweet potato fries they had ever had so they had to order from there again the next day. They did later find out that restaurant has won a lot of rewards. Justin and I got to pick them up from the airport to take them to Jacob's mom's house to get their car. It was fun to hear all about their trip. Tonight we had his mom and sisters and his grandparents over for dinner and to watch them open up their wedding gifts. I made lasagna, salad and garlic bread with brownies, dream bars and ice cream for dessert. It was a really nice evening.

Kayla sent me this Marco today. It is from the steps going into their shop. Apparently, the people who lived there before and put in the cement had a daughter names Hannah Jacob.

Hannah's Wedding

I think yesterday was pretty close to perfect as a day could be. Hannah and Jacob's sealing was at 1:30 pm. The sun was out at the temple and it felt so warm.

The sealing was beautiful. My dad was able to seal them and gave them some great advice. Originally, we were only going to be allowed to have 16 people in the temple with them as Covid precautions are still in place but a couple days ago the temple called and said they were now allowing up to 50 in the sealing. Hannah invited all the aunts and uncles that live here in Utah and also Mark and Dalana. Everyone but Allen and Cortney were able to make it as Cortney came down with Covid and has been sick.

The best man and the brothers.
I love this picture of Hannah and Olivia.
Dalana and Mark, Kelly and Thomas (Thomas did not stay for pictures), George and RaNae, Parker and Emily, Sara and Adam and my parents. And of course me, Nathan, Isaac, Hannah, Jacob and Olivia.
That would be the last time we saw the sun that day. Jacob's family was putting on a luncheon so we headed back toward our house stopping at Krispy Kreme Donuts to pick up the 17 dozen donuts for the wedding reception. We ran into the house to drop off the donuts and meet up with Shayla and Ryanne and Gideon! I am so glad they were able to come! Tracy had to work this weekend and Ginger had planned on coming but Jaikka ended up having her senior dance showcase so she was not able to. Shayla and her kids were able to join us for the luncheon. It was set up perfect for them. Since they met at Dominos, they wanted Dominos pizza with salad and breadsticks. His grandma made the breadsticks and they were delicious. His family also made some yummy desserts.
Anne got to take a quick break to eat and sat with us at our table after getting some more great pictures.
Oh how I love my family!
It was cute to hear Jacob tell the story of how he and Hannah met. He was a driver at Dominos and came in one day and saw her in the kitchen and thought she was cute. Since he was a driver he didn't have a chance to interact with her though. Well, a couple weeks later he got in a car accident while working and had to stop being a delivery driver and started working in the kitchen with her. Their manager started putting them on the same schedule and then he finally asked her out.
As soon as the luncheon was over we headed back to our house to pick up the donuts and stop at Smith's to grab some balloons and then head over to Jacob's mom's house. Hannah and Jacob looked pretty exhausted! They just needed to make it a couple more hours.
It ended up being super cold and windy but the yard was beautiful and I think they had fun. It was fun for Justin and I to have family there and also see some friends from Georgia and a few new neighbors here in Utah stopped by.
Grace and her friend Amy did a great job making sure all the refreshments were stocked.
Hannah and Jacob's feet were tired too! They opted for more comfortable shoes for the reception.
It was very nice of Lauren to come down from BYU-I. I think these GA kids had fun catching up.
Thankfully Olivia had a coat in her car. It just happened to be white too. It helped keep Hannah warm.
Hannah really wanted to have cornhole set up. It was a hit! I think it was in use all night.
Jacobs cousin, mom and sisters made the cake. They did a great job! Funfetti like Jacob requested.
This cut cracked me up.
I had to laugh that this was the only picture of me and Shayla. She looked so beautiful in her red dress which she is not wearing because it got so cold. I must be saying something super important. Ha.
It was so cold they decided to head out 15 minutes early. I was good with that. I was freezing too. I love these send off pictures!
It really was a wonderful day.
This morning I made breakfast for everyone and then Shayla, Ryanne, Gideon and mom and dad headed home. Hannah and Jacob stayed at a hotel by the airport last night and then left for their honeymoon this morning. They are going to Florida. I hope they have a great time!
