In our church, the boys do one year of Webelos and a year of EYO (eleven year old scouts) instead of two years of Webelos before going into the Boy Scout Program at age 12. Justin is serving as the EYO leader so it was fun to have him as Nathan's leader. It also encouraged them both to work hard to get Nathan through as many advancements as he could. Nathan worked VERY hard. He did not get to go to scout camp so Justin and another dad planned two days of activities for Nathan and his friend Andrew (who also could not go) to get some merit badges too. They had a lot of fun shooting, rock climbing, working on Citizen Ship in the Community and learning about and going to see airplanes with our friend David who is a pilot. All the hard work paid off at the court of honor where he got A LOT of awards. I was very proud of him. He has since moved out of EYOs and is in a scouting slump. Time to get back to work:)
