Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a little different this year without having any company.  Since we have moved to Arizona, my parents, grandparents and Ginger have all come for Thanksgiving at different times so we always had family to spend the day/weekend with.  With my parents being in El Salvador on their mission and Ginger not having the funds for it this year, it left us to celebrate with just our little family.  At first, I was sad but it ended up being a really nice weekend.  We didn't really do anything but hang out and that is what made it nice.  I decided since it was just us, I was buying the rolls this year and I only made one pumpkin pie and bought a razzleberry one from Marie Calender's.  We got up and got the turkey going and then headed out on a family hike.  We are very blessed to have an amazing trail system so close to our house with the Arizona Trail.  I had ran this part of the trail with some ladies a couple weeks prior and thought it would be perfect for our family.
I thought it would be about a 4-mile hike remembering back from our run.  The trail crosses a road at about mile two and on our run I thought that was the road that headed right back through the ranch which was near where we parked the car.  That would have been perfect if it actually had been the road!  It took us through a campsite.  We were glad it did because it had bathrooms and water.  It was a hot day and we could all use a drink and a refill of water bottles.  The road ended up taking us clear out to the pay station where we would then have to add another mile to get to our car.  Whoops.  It ended up being almost six but we had fun.  There wasn't too much complaining;)  Justin and I did have to laugh a little because we knew where we were and not in danger.  He reminded me that the first rule of hiking is know where you are going!  I love my family.  The kids are growing so fast.  Some days I want to make them all be toddlers again but other days, like today, I love not having to carry anyone!

Dinner was good and it was fun to cook and clean up as a family.  After dinner we watched a movie which ended the day nicely.

Wildcat Volleyball

Hannah had been wanting to go to a U of A volleyball game all season.  Since we had some free passes that came with our football season tickets, I promised her we would go.  I love watching them too.  Luckily, I looked at the schedule the week of their last home game!  She was so cute.  She was extremely excited and could not stop talking.  The whole time she kept asking if she would be able to get their autographs after the game.  Justin had told her they might and that sometimes if it is the last game, they give out posters they have left over from the season.  She was a little dissappointed when we got to the game and didn't see any posters but had a program with the girl's pictures and was hoping they would sign that.  I don't know if she actually watched a lot since she was so excited she could hardly sit still.  Of coure we had to get ice cream while there.
She was so happy to hear the announcers say that the girls would be coming out after the game to sign autographs.  We headed down to the floor and somehow had perfecting timing to get right up to the front of the line.  In about two minutes, it was a very long line!
They even had posters to sign!!  We ran into two of Hannah's friends, Kiersten and Rebecca at the game.  These girls both play on her volleball team.  What a fun thing for all three of them.
It was a fun night and I was glad I got to be the mom taking her.
